Chad Vaughn, a 2-time Olympian, coaches Pat Barber (the Manimal) in the clean. This video is a great example of how even the smallest of change in an athlete's body position or technique can at first cause frustration and a feeling of awkwardness during a lift. It is extremely important that technique is emphasized during heavy (working) and light (warm-up) sets. Never should an athlete just "go through the motion."
