Internship Opportunity

Central Kentucky Weightlifting is currently accepting applications for unpaid internship positions over the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Interns will have the opportunity to work out of Shively weight room at the University of Kentucky and gain knowledge and experience coaching groups of athletes on a wide variety of functional movements including: Olympic weightlifting movements and all their variations, plyometrics, gymnastic movements, endurance activities, kettlebell exercises, etc.

Spring semester                                        

Dates: February 20 – May 4                    

Deadline to apply: February 17

Summer semester

Dates: May 14 – August 17

Deadline to apply: April 20

Fall semester

Dates: August 20 – December 14

Deadline to apply: August 3

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess or be working toward a certification through USAW, CrossFit, CSCCa, and/or NSCA. Candidates must have outstanding work ethics and attention to detail. Candidates must have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach or fitness professional.

Compensation:
There is no monetary compensation provided. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a degree program. Interns will receive hands on experience working with elite level coaches.
